Just so you know, I doubt any other Ning Network would make such a request (replacing your personal name with your Network Name). This is just to help Visitors on this site, immediately realize what kind of Ning Network you own. I hope that makes sense.
Welcome again,
Jen
Thank you for adding your Ning Network to the Directory. In order to maximize attention to your Network, when Community Seekers are searching through our Communities - - please change your Member Name to your Network Name: Art Theory and Inspiration. If your personal name is representing your Network, then that's great! When you change your member name here on the Directory, it should not effect any of your other Ning accounts/networks.
Don't forget to add your Ning Networks to THE LIST. You can add multiple Ning Networks under one member account. Be sure to close Discussion/Listing, if you don't want commenting. Note: Limit 2 Listings per Ning Network.
Also, we have added 20 new Groups, based on Categories. Be sure to add your Network to the appropriate Group. Same guidelines as THE LIST, limit joining 2 of the special Category Groups, per Ning Network.
I hope the Directory is both rewarding to you and your Network!
FOR THIS TEAM EFFORT TO SUCCEED,
PLEASE DROP BY THE SITE OFTEN!
LET'S GO TO THE TOP, TOGETHER!
Best to you,
Jen
Welcome to the Ning Directory! I couldn't help but notice your conversation with Pierre. I hope maybe I can interject and help out. When you create a Ning Network, if you set it to 'Private, Invitation Only', no one can see any page within your network, except existing members. I have found the best way to keep a Network 99% private (protecting members and their work), mark the Network as Public (Visitors See just the main page) . This enables you to let visitors get a 'feel' for your Network, by allowing them to see your Home/Main Page. But, in order for them to see everything, they must join.
How to Edit these Settings:
Click on Manage from your Main Menu. Locate the icon labeled "Privacy & Feature Controls". Click the radio button next to "Public", and check the radio button, "See just the main page".
If you want to approve members before allowing their account to be active, from the same control panel, look for "Feature Controls". Check the box next to: "Approve new members before they can join".
Naturally, a site like this (Ning Directory), everything is totally Public, except 2 private groups. This is due to the nature of our site, and the fact that we are here to promote Ning Networks.
The good news is: You can change your Network Privacy options any time.
I hope this helps! I will send your official Welcome message, next. :-)
Best Regards,
Jen
