Comment wall scroll box with separate header

Here is one of several codes we have written to place your comment wall text box in a scroll bar, with the header and footer separate. We have written a few other versions, but we have refined them to use as few characters as possible. A picture can be added to each section if desired.

.xg_module_comment_wall .xj_ajax{
height: 350px;
overflow : auto;
margin : 3px;
text-align : center;
font-size : 14px;
}
.xg_module_comment_wall .xg_module_foot{
float:right;
height: 50px;
border:0px;
}

This can also be combined with this older code ladynight_time wrote, to add another picture or a transparency.

/* scroll box for comment wall */
#xg_module_body,
#xg_module_head h2, .xg_module_comment_wall {
}

Rainbow Construction, where in the CSS do you place this and can this be used on the overall site as well as on a personal page?

All tweaks I post can be placed anywhere in the code; However, all tweaks with scroll bars SHOULD be placed at the bottom of the code, right before the end of the code. And yes, this code can also be used on the main page.

Hi. I'm a little confused. I tried adding this & nothing happened. Perhaps I was in the wrong place.
I went to MyPage/ / Settings / My Page / Appearance / Advanced

Is there another spot to add this code? -- Thanks

Adding any code right now is hit-or-miss, with Ning making changes. If you send me a link, I can see why it is not working for you.

l followed your directions, and l have a scroll bar at the bottom of the comment wall, why is this? l have the one that up and down but the one on the bottom goes side ways

I tried putting this on my site but unfortunetly doesn't work! how can I make this code work?? can somebody help me here?

You put this code at the bottom right above the /*--Footer (#xg_foot and descendants)--*/
It works great on my page but l have a bottom scroll bar on mine.

I have not been on here in so long and an only now going through the groups to catch up.To your Q

about the little scroll bar at the bottom of your commentwall that is in the footer code

height: 50px;----just change the 50px to auto and the scroll should go away.

Hello,

I really liked your concept of having a scroll bar in the comment box. I tried following your instruction but eventually I was not able to see that feature in my website. If I login as Admin, I dont see the scroll bar in my comment box, but some user do have scroll bar in their profile. I am kind off confused with this phenomenon and would highly appreciate if you could help me out with it.

A little late for the answer and don't know if you got it fixed.

but when you pasted the code into your

MyPage/ / Settings / My Page / Appearance / Advanced--tab

did you remember to add the } at the top of the code.So that it looked like this

}

.xg_module_comment_wall .xj_ajax{
height: 350px;
overflow : auto;
margin : 3px;
text-align : center;
font-size : 14px;
}
.xg_module_comment_wall .xg_module_foot{
float:right;
height: 50px;
border:0px;
}

And if you did then make sure there is only one } above and below the code,sometimes two in a row will cause the code not to work, the same goes with not having one above or below. I have had this code and it worked for me all the time even tho i have refined it some and made it smaller.
