Suggest Alternative Solutions to Ning

Assisting and Encouraging Fellow Ning Network Creators with Free Networks

With the recent announcement by Ning: ..."phasing out free sites", this Group has been created to give a place where fellow Network Creators can assist, and encourage each other, and suggest alternative solutions to Ning.

Please offer and discuss possible solutions, for owners of free Ning Networks. And most of all, let's all offer encouragement to our fellow Ning Network Creators.

Comment by Magic Happens on April 21, 2010 at 11:34am: l think you need to add links to your link page, and to get the links, l do not know for sure, but l have ning directoy on my link page and they even have a thumbnail veiw of this sites home page.

Ask friends for their links and add them on the link page. That way you cam go back and forth. l am sorry l am not more help, but l am still learning.

While blogging tools like WordPress and TypePad have recently undergone considerable overhauls to their respective blogging interfaces, a service called Viviti is going in a different direction. The blog host lets you edit and manage your content right on the page. There's still a simple WYSIWYG editor, but all you have to do to edit and change content and the look and feel of the site is to click and drag the bits and pieces around. Users of Ning will feel right at home.

Anyone else tried it?

Grou.ps has 10GB storage same as ning, Wackwall is good also but i'm not sure about thier storage limit. Anyone tried Yuku? do they really have unlimited storage?

Comment by MY OWN SPACE 360 on April 21, 2010 at 5:32am: The Chat on grou.ps is located like nings at the bottom right as a pop up, the chat on the top bar of grou.ps is just a history of the pop up chat :)

I have just attempted to add a page to be told I have already exceeded the limit of 10. That's not good enough for me!
