All,

In theory, a bit of Javascript should work in a text box. Unfortunately the JS for embedding a LinkedIN profile isn't happening.

Here's the code that LinkedIN's plugin tool spits out:

script src="http://platform.linkedin.com/in.js" type="text/javascript"></script><script type="IN/MemberProfile" data-id="http://www.linkedin.com/in/tomelliottnh" data-format="inline"></script

(Omitting two <> so code won't be problematic here.)

When I save the text box, the code is immediately stripped out, and of course never loads.

Is there something unusual about the LinkedIN code? Or is there an unstated trick to this?

PS- I asked this same question on NC here- thanks if you can answer either place.

Remind me to help you tomorrow evening, running out door.

=)

Help me tomorrow evening. LOL.

I'm mostly sure that this is LinkedIN's problem- their forums full of complaints about these new plugins. But the fact that I have successfully gotten the script to run on non-Ning sites is curious.

Jen- it was as simple as this:

"Regular members can't embed javascript in their page though as a security precaution."

LinkedIN and Ning just do not want to play together.
