Does anyone know a way to put a simple "WHOS ONLINE" widget onto your site ?

What I mean is , I want one that shows members avatars and says online, then disapears when they go offline .
Not great at adding code , so would need step by step instructions if you know how to do it .
Thanks
Pete.

Hi Pete,
The Who's Online you see on JenSocial is from the former Scripts4Ning (S4N). Unfortunately, this script is no longer available to new networks. The code is deeply embedded on the backend, and I can't even get to it.

The only other who's online I've seen recently and that's still around, is offered with the Skysa Bar. It really rocks, and works well. But, not sure if you want the rest of the toolbar. I'm trying to talk Skysa into coming out with a Who's Online as an individual app. that will work with the new Ning API.

Thanks Jen,
Yes your right I didnt want all the Skysa bar as I already use Jisbar (which I think is great and so easy to use), I wish they would bring out something similar to Skysa.
If skysa did bring out a stand alone version of their whos online , I would definately be happy.
Regards
Pete.
Sounds interesting.
I see if i can come up with that .
Would be brilliant if you could :)
Elson,
My favorite prodigy, play it cautious on this one. Learn the new Ning API, that would be the best method. I'll write you a private message and explain some of the history of Developers and Who's Online.

Hi,
I know jen knows this one (The master). Click HERE if it works for you. - Copy and paste to Costum code box.
If the link you have provided is to TJ's script of jqueryhelp, anyone who uses it will need to join his site, and he will "turn-on" the feature.

I haven't even seen TJ's code yet. But have heard fellow NCs talk about it, and know first hand that TJ is a genius (the master of jQuery, not doubt). He's just a really great Guy, so please be sure to join his site, and follow his steps to use his code.

Best,
Jen
Nope, Tj is genius as well as jen the master! :-))) :D
Thank you for your kind words. ;-) I'm confused though. Are you saying this code didn't come from TJ? I want to make sure folks join his site if it did.
Thanks,
Jen
I am using Tjs code and its a great piece of work.
He is improving it all the time :)

Clive,

The Who's Online script I use on JenSocial was part of the previous subscription service called Scripts4Ning. Those scripts are installed on the backend and not available to new sites. You may want to investigate what TJ is offering in his IM.

And, Skysa offers a toolbar that has a built-in IM/Who's Online that was integrated for Ning Networks. I think it still is.

Best,

Jen
