Adding this code to Advanced CSS, should remove the box from home page only:

.xg_widget_main #xg_module_account {display:none;}

Thanks very much Jen, this is precisely what I wanted to do; the code worked perfectly.  I would like to build in a slider and perhaps now I might need to adjust the code so that the slider is larger? I successfully added the 728 X 90 slider box to my test network, but now that the sign in box is removed I may have more room.
