Attention Ning Network Creators,

If you are a Ning Network Creator, be careful sending out broadcast messages. I am seeing a few hiccups here and there. I'm finding that image backgrounds or any advanced HTML code may cause issues. If you send out broadcast messages, for now - - keep it simple.

As you probably know, and it may be in your spam box - - I just sent out an exciting message to Ning Network Creators about Jen's Premium Ning Tips and announced the exciting new premium tip for the JenSocial Slider.

I sent a preview to myself, more than once. And the preview was just as I had prepared it. I got a little carried away with all the new power the broadcast message editor appeared to be tempting me with, LOL.

Although my message looked good in the broadcast feature screen and my preview, the message sent out had several errors within. I apologize, but at the same time wanted to provide a head's up to Ning Network Creators. I'm sure all the kinks will be worked out soon. But for now, couple of things to watch out for:

1. Do not try to add background images to DIVs or your broadcast message, even if the preview is good.

2. Do not insert links. They get stripped down, the domain being removed. Enter links as straight text, and they will work fine.

So, if you were not able to see the link to read more about Jen's Premium Ning Tip's Group and Support, go here:

This is the message that l keep getting. It happens on any page here. l do not have this popping up on other web sites. There fore l do not think it is my compter. It just happens on this site. Sorry, l been trying to post this message to you everywheres on this site so hop this works this time.

Oh no! And that's such an elusive message, don't know what is causing it. I am so sorry, and don't know what to do. I have to have more information, and you're probably not going to have it. Tell me this. What browser are you using?

l am using internet explorer 8 and it is 5:48 AM and l am not getting this message now.

Fantasyland,

For now I have removed our testing for the facebook commenting in groups. However, I'm thinking this is ning. I've seen a lot of complaints in the past 2-3 days on Creators about speed.

Did that removal help? I'll leave this message in private email too.

Best,

Jen

You said you removed the testing for facebook and l am not getting this message now. So l went to web search to see if l could get an answer, and l am just finding that it is on the web page l visit. Not my computer. IE8 may have something to do with it not working, l am not sure.

Thanks again for helping out. Now, I have to make a decision about the fb commenting. Not sure what to do. Maybe if I test on IE8 explicitly, I can figure it out. If you could access the version you're running from your Toolbar, Help/About IE, that would be helpful. I'm testing in IE8 and wasn't experiencing the issues. But, I know you are, too coincidental otherwise.

Gotta go for today, but will check back tomorrow.

Have a wonderful Sunday,

Jen

l been checking the IE8 for anything l might find but , l am not computer smart. l will check the settings and see if everything is set to compatility and your site as with Ning sites are there as compatible.

Okay how oh how do we send pics out on the broadcast? I have done the HTML to no avail, I heard we need to hit the HTML then input the pic code then hit the HTML again but this doesn't seem to work either. Whats the catch?
Any hints, thank you,

Persephone

I can click on insert image from the Visual Editor, and it works for me. But yes, you should also be able to click on HTML and add an image with the <img src="imagefilepath">

Best,

Jen

Thank you Jen.

My pleasure, hope it helped.

=)
