Save Space in a Text Box by Adding Scroll Bars, to scroll through long text:
I wouldn't say it is a "Ning" tip, yet a typical HTML tip.

Want to add an inline scroll box to your site? You can add one to a text box on your home page, or a page created with Add New Page (http://yourning.ning.com/page/page/new).

Copy the code from the attached file. Change the width and height parameters to change the scroll box size. I will add our Directory Category Links, to show how it works and looks.

Now, insert your text here, and adjust the width and height of your DIV.

After you grab the code from the attached file, above: 1. Change the text to what you want and, 2. Change the size to what you need - - 3. Go to your home page, and edit a new Text Box. Paste the code to the box and save.
I hope this helps, :-)

Hi Jen, Thanks but I worked it out. Bu while you are here and I know you are very busy and I'm sorry about this, but how do I add pages to tabs so they appear in the tab when you click on it, instead of having sub tabs. When I add pages in a tab, they don't appear in the tab but in all pages.

No problem Maria, always happy to help when I can. Just so you know my schedule: I am limited on Sundays. I help with my aging Mom, and go stay with her on Sunday afternoons/night. So, I'm usually offline from Sunday afternoon until Monday mid-day (Eastern US).

On the page links and tabs: When you create a page, you actually have to manually add a tab and link to your new page.
1. Go to new page.
2. Copy Link (URL)
3. Go to Manage/Tabs
4. Add New Tab (if room)
5. Give your tab a title, and add your page link to new tab.
6. Uncheck sub-tab if checked.
7. Save
Hope that helps,
Jen

Are you out of tab space? You can only add 12-14. I forget which. And, or you sure to click on SAVE?

Maria, if you are doing all of this, and the Tab Manager is for some reason not allowing you to SAVE your new tabs, you will need to submit a support ticket with Ning Support:
http://help.ning.com/?page_id=20

BTW, you will always see your page links under All Pages.
Good Luck and wish I could help more. Wish I could see your screen. Maybe I should set up a Support Desk where I can access screens.
Best to you,
Jen
