"No, it's not because of that - and given the importance of plugins in shaping a network, that's a good aspect. I think it's because the BP community is steeped in code, and expects people to be able to nip in and out of php files…"

Hi Ernie,

So glad to find someone else attempting to wrestle the Buddypress giant into obedience (grin) ..

Please share any wisdom ... I am trying to create a start up site..learn what I can before I move my Ning group. So practice is valuable. The challenge is.. I am stuck... I have gone as far as I can without "fresh eyes".. I would welcome someone to just answer a few questions and help me see what I am missing.

Great attitude Ernie. They're probably not too thrilled with me right now. I let them know today how I felt about the past 2 1/2 days of instability, and so little status reporting to their NCs. I wasn't horrible, but sure didn't candy-coat it. ;-) And I'll leave it at that.

I'm totally excited to hear you're doing a deep-dive into BuddyPress. I've dabbled in it just recently. That's my next big move, learning BP to the max. I love what I see so far. I would love it if you would add your notes on JenSocial. That would be awesome. In fact, if you ever find the time or inclination, I can't think of a better Expert Blogger. See the Group here. It's a brand new thing. I want to start inviting Experts in the field of Social Media, to blog on the site.

BTW, did you see I've started over with the redirect: JenSocial.com? That's so hard for me Ernie, after working for the 50k Alexa and Google PR 4. Oh well, it had to be done. :-)
