Save Space in a Text Box by Adding Scroll Bars, to scroll through long text:
I wouldn't say it is a "Ning" tip, yet a typical HTML tip.

Want to add an inline scroll box to your site? You can add one to a text box on your home page, or a page created with Add New Page (http://yourning.ning.com/page/page/new).

Copy the code from the attached file. Change the width and height parameters to change the scroll box size. I will add our Directory Category Links, to show how it works and looks.

Now, insert your text here, and adjust the width and height of your DIV.

October 11, 2008 - Hey GTL, Finally got around to seeing your new site. Looks great, I've been lost for the last hour plus in all the links. Gonna take me a few more sittings at the puter to catch it all.

October 14, 2008 - Thanks Guy! Neat site, as we LOVE hot springs and look forward to checking out the ones in BC!! Best regards!

October 17, 2008 - Thanks for the invite, maybe now I can find some hotsprings closer to home.

October 28, 2008 - Hi, I think its great that you have a website like this. My family has been traveling to most "wild" hotsprings for ages. Lussier is definetly a favorite but its getting waaaaay to over populated. Thanks for the invite!

October 28, 2008 - Hi Guy, thanks for the website. it is nice. Just got back from Japan where I got to spend 10 days hot springing and visiting my wife's relatives. Introduced my twins to Japanese style hot springing. Will look forward to visiting you someday when I get back up that way. Cheers from San Jose California. :)

November 3, 2008 - thanks Guy! wow u've done a sweet job here. CHEERS!!! i can see u have put in so much time and energy just for the sake of sharing......thankyou November 6, 2008 - Thanks Guy! Appreciate all of the great work you've done, incredible site!

November 19, 2008 - Hi GTL, your site is great. It's been 10 years or more since I was in BC but I can't wait to go back. I have family in Vancouver and last time I was out there we visited some springs but they were more of the developed variety. I would really like to camp at some of the more remote springs for a few days. I camp most every weekend here in Eastern Ontario but all we have are cold springs. Great for a drink but not so much a soak, save for a few of the hottest weeks of summer. cya

December 28, 2008 - Thank you for your hosting,I will be looking to go one day in the future to look for wild hot springs in the BC or any other places in the rockys but this is for now ,keep the good work,Kaly

January 10, 2009 - Hey Guy thanks, your site here is cool I am in Brantford ON and me and 2 friends are flying into calgary and driving to fernie and kelowna and I was wondering if you knew 1 or 2 good natural hotsprings. It will be march when we get there and I dont know which ones would be good and hot that time of year and are they ok to sit or swim in. I have a GPS unit and am willing to hike. Any info would be greatly appreciated.thanks Adrian.

You all are a great encouragement, Thank You All! Guy

Just had to test it!
Hmmm I'm not 100% sure how to get this one working, GTL networks yours is exactly how I want mine to look! I can put the code in but there's no scroll bar and I'm not sure what content to put in it. I wanted to put testimonials of the site.
I believe if you make the height less, until you add more content, you'll see the scrollbar.
Best,
Jen
Cool! Some of the tips will not work in Ning Discussions, and only in Ning Text boxes or new pages. Hopefully I have documented which ones, work where.
Take care,
Jen

Great.
Great info!

To further enhance the look of your box and make it blend into your page, you change change the background color from the bright white to any color you want by copying the color code and inserting it in the code in the file.

You can get the color codes here:

Have a GREAT day,
