HTML 101- Add Link and Display Text Title, Instead of Link Address

How to Add a hyperlink to Text: (display text to click, instead of the hyperlink)

The <a> Element / Hyperlink Tag

Add the <a> element, using the href attribute, like this:
<a href="yourlink.com">
Add your text or word, after your link address.
After your text, close the </a> element.
See full tag example below.
<a href="http://theningdirectory.ning.com/">Ning Directory</a>
To force the link or webpage to open in new window, add the target attribute like this: target="_blank"
<a href="http://theningdirectory.ning.com/" target="_blank">Ning Directory</a>
It can also be written like this:
<a target="_blank" href="http://theningdirectory.ning.com/">Ning Directory</a>
And, it's always good to add a title for Search Engine Optimization:
<a target="_blank" href="http://theningdirectory.ning.com/" title="Ning Directory">Ning Directory</a>

Auto-add Using the Link Icon in Ning Text Boxes

You can also add a title to a link, by clicking on the "Link Icon" (next to camera/image icon) in the Ning Boxes - - where this functionality is available.

Add your text.
Highlight the text.
Click on the "link" icon at top of text boxes, like this one. The link icon is to left of camera/image icon.
Enter your link.
Click OK.

Technical Notes:

This <a> element defines a link
The href attribute defines the link "address".
