The Hello Bar - Cool Tool to Announce Messages at Top of Site

A member of JenSocial shared the news of this little tool with me - - Jerry of The Hutterite Social Network.

 

The Hello Bar is in beta, but quickly approved my account. It enables you to add nice, clean, and easy messages at the top of your website. You can even update your message via a RSS Feed. It's called the Hello Bar, the little bar that gets noticed.

There was a post on the creator site that added a custom, scrolling message to the xn bar.  I can't remember if it was CSS code or Java Script.  I used it on my site, then deleted it when I changed themes.  Is this any different that that?

Yeah, different. The Hello Bar is a third party and a bit spiffier, but could take longer to load.

If you use this tip, please read tip carefully. You will need to use/edit the tip's attached text file, due to the Ning platform striping an important parameter (the word "position") - - for security reasons.
