The title 'ThaWilsonBlock' stems from the actual Wilson avenue in Pasadena, Ca. It is the name of the street that Mistah Wilson (aka Bing Bing/Mike Taylor) grew up on since 2002 to present.

Before I ran ThaWilsonBlock Network, I already made the concious decision of becoming a rapper. Before I released my first mixtape Tha West Kept Secret vol.1 (2008),I was already calling my record label 'ThaWilsonBlock Recordz'

When I created the site. It was thawilsonblock.ning.com until I bought the official domain some time in 2010 I believe. Before becoming what it is today, ThaWilsonBlock has gone through many phases.

Before the site was geared to promoting artists and such, it was simply the homepage of ThaWilsonBlock Recordz, an independent underground record label based in Pasadena, Ca. I continued to use the site and became more & more familiar & interested in it. Some time in 2009 as ideas were running through my mind faster than a McLaren F1, I figured I could use this extensive site I call ThaWilsonBlock to promote artists and social awareness. That is when I jumped in the race to put a stronghold on the local independent music scene in Pasadena, Ca & beyond.

And I DID IT! Currently, ThaWilsonBlock Network is the ONLY site in my city where you can LISTEN/DOWNLOAD/COMMENT/SHARE music by your favorite local indie artists. We have the broadest artists database than any site in the city.

We are also associated with The DENA Magazine, Pasadena's newest & hottest independent publication showing you that Pasadena is MUCH MORE than just football games & rose parades. We just released our 2nd issue (see below) and we're on a vigourous mission to document the inspiration, influence, and independence of Pasadena and the rest of the San Gabriel Valley.
