I know previously I found a solution on your site on how to overlay a transparent box on my Ning header which, when clicked on, would always return the viewer to the homepage.  Thank you soooo much.  It was simple and easy.  Even a novice such as myself was able to complete it on the first try.  Problem #1 is I neglected to save the site used to accomplish this in my favorites and forgot its name altogether.  Can you remind me?

Question #2  Do you know of a way to overlay holiday lights or falling snow on a header?  Yes, there was a post a/b this in Ning Creators but OMG after a week of attempts, I've thrown my hands up in the air.

There must be a simply way and I'm guessing you [all] can find it.  Thank you ahead of time for your assistance and Happy Holidays to you and yours.

That would be cool for me too.  love to have a special holiday header with lights.

I'll try to add a couple tomorrow. Late and pooped.

Best,

Jen

This script is pretty cool. It blows out simple little snow balls, and they pile up at the bottom of the screen. You can change the blue-ish color to white or other color. Do keep in mind: any code of this type will slow down your pages a bit. You'll need to test it and see how it goes.

Just add to your Custom Code Box, via:

My Network/Tools/Custom Code

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/981288859?profile=original"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> snowStorm.snowColor = '#99ccff'; // blue-ish snow </script>

It would probably load faster if you uploaded the attached file via your File Manager, and changed the URL for the snowstorm.js file. But, you can use this code too.

Why is not working?  I've uploaded the "snowstorm.js" to my file Manager and used the new URL which I included in the above script replacing yours.  But nothing is happening!

You can chek it out http://photo-nature.org

It worked great for me, but it slowed my slider down a bit, so I don't want to use it.

Add your code here in a text file and I'll take a look.

Best,

Jen

Dumb question I know, but gotta make sure. Did you add to the Custom Code Box?

As a matter of fact the question is not so dum for me as I asked myself the question if I'd better put the code in the "CSS" codes... But no I did put it in the Custom Code Box...

But, I still don't see the result after many refresh of my page... but if you see it maybe my Java is outdated ????

This my code :

script type="text/javascript" src="http://api.ning.com:80/files/dge52W3JMtjWuNYDsq1IpgybYtXJRkid6Q73sei-1wVa3vF4CaMC053Lz*-tF3ef*78KPeMKSMEY*N-6Gca7hfwnbBpCJkKv/snowstorm.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> snowStorm.snowColor = '#99ccff'; // blue-ish snow </script>

If this is your code, you're missing a < before the first script statement. Otherwise, just try mine:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://storage.ning.com/topology/rest/1.0/file/get/981288859?profile=original"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> snowStorm.snowColor = '#99ccff'; // blue-ish snow </script>

Best,
Jen

Thank you so much Jen, that was exactly the problem... Just to say that forgetting a simple "<" could make everything wrong.

Thank you so much for you free time and your precious attention. This is much appreciated.

Regards

Bruce

P.S. Sorry for the delay, I was experiencing some Internet problems and could not connect!

wonder if this could be done with a lights look

Lex, I haven't seen anything like that yet, been looking.. :-)
