Intentional Healing

The power of intention has played a significant role in the healing of individuals throughout history. In Europe, Asia and the Mediterranean, testimonials of successful healings have been etched in stone providing a valuable insight for future generations.

“Believe me, men, I have been dead all the years I have been alive. The beautiful, the good, the holy, the evil were all the same to me; such it seems was the darkness that formerly enveloped my understanding and concealed and hid from me all these things. But now that I have come here, I have become alive, as if I had lain down in the temple of Asclepius and been saved. I walk, I talk, I think. The sun, so great, so beautiful. I have now discovered men, for the first time: now I see the clear sky, you, the air, the acropolis, the theatre.”………… Papyrus Didotrana 360 BC

The healing temples viewed and treated the whole person. This work emphasized the interactive unity of mind and body.

In his best selling book, The Biology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter and Miracles, Bruce H. Lipton, Ph.D. describes it as “. . . the new perspective on human biology does not view the body as just a mechanical device, but incorporates the role of mind and spirit. This breakthrough in biology is fundamental to healing for it shows us that when we change our perceptions or beliefs, the nervous system sends totally different messages to our cells. In effect, we reprogram them. This new biology reveals how people can have spontaneous remissions or recover from injuries thought to be permanent disabilities.”

This new look at biology also works hand in hand with our new look at physics and our improved understanding of our universe.

“The concepts which now prove to be fundamental to our understanding of nature ... seem to my mind to be structures of pure thought, ... the universe begins to look more like a great thought than a great machine.”

James Jeans, in The Mysterious Universe.

The success of Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, Healing Touch and other similar modalities depend on the intention of the practitioner.  Each of the practices has its own unique traits. However the one factor that must be present to guaranty success is the intention and focus on wellness and healing.

The effectiveness of intentional healing is well documented, discussed, and written about.  The beauty is in the simplicity of the practice. Focus on healing and then healing occurs.
