l can understand this, Yes, lf the tips are good and help me l will donate . l think people are mean to steal others hard work and not link back. l believed a administrator l had was going into my things and helping their self.

Thanks Fantasyland! Here's a good question to ponder. Have any of the tips helped you, so far? And I mean helped, as in: made your Ning Network better, or more attractive, or better optimized - - to help maintain member loyalty, or to gain new membership?

BTW, very sucky on an Admin stealing your work.

I'll be completely honest with you. I don't blame you one BIT for charging, as I know the time and commitment involved to come up with your very valuable tips. However, with that being said, I'm not too sure I could afford to BUY any of them, since I'm unemployed, and right now, my networks are just a LOT of hard work for me, as well, just for FUN! Now... if i could find a way to generate some sort of $$$ for my work to my networks, I would be able to afford to pay for premium tips, and make my networks even BETTER!! LOL

I would however donate when I could, for things I wanted to USE. However AGAIN, with that being said, how would I KNOW it's something I could use, if I couldn't TRY it first? It's so SAD that thieves have to ruin things for the honest users.

For instance I acquire a LOT of hacked programs and unpaid for mp3's. I don't mind saying that one bit either, BECAUSE if you knew how MANY programs (and CD's for that matter) I have bought over the years, that only get used a few times, then you'd know what a good customer I am. So, when I like the mp3's I acquire, I BUY the CD. I can have every song (on a CD) as an mp3, but I'll STILL PAY for the CD. Because I believe if I enjoy it, and listen to it, the artist DESERVES to be PAID. I feel the same way about programs, (or tips in your case) that are VERY useful to me. If I use a program once or twice, in a matter of months, then I won't pay $300 for it. Because I don't feel it's WORTH the investment. However, even if I have a FULL working copy of a program, is It's very useful to me, I will PAY for the licensed version, just because it's the right thing to do, and the developer DESERVES to be paid for their hard work.

Too bad you can't know in advance, who are the HONEST users, and who are NOT. That bites that someone has used your work on their OWN sites. Just WRONG!!!

Sorry for rambling on. Just my humble opinion is all. LOL

Don't apologize for rambling, as I didn't consider it that at all. I enjoyed your thoughts and commentary, and very much appreciate your honesty. But, like I said, not to worry - - still will be plenty of free tips.

I'm very sorry to hear about your job. That's horrible. This is why I work for myself, as much as possible. I was in Senior Technology Management for many years. Got so sick of unfair practices at the workplace. It was never so much towards me. In that, I was blessed. But, just as hard to be told you HAVE to fire someone, and for no good reason. Or, you can't hire someone, cause they're too old, or not pretty enough. It happens, all the time. No loyalty left in the Corporate World, not much for sure. But, I still believe everything happens for a reason. And there are still plenty of great people out there - - just look at all the friendships we've made right here, on this site. Keep your chin up. Stay the course. I believe if we do this, things will always get better in one's life.

About the other Ning, not a member of this site. No worries, things like this don't shake me much. Just taking care of business. And, always interested in getting you all to share with me, your thoughts.

Another thing, and to EVERYONE: I've already figured out a way to do this Premium thingy. I will ask for donations or payment of sorts on the Premium Tips. BUT, if there are tips our loyal members want, and don't have the freedom to purchase, I will trade out the tip for hits on the site. ;-) Because for me, hits are the same as payment. Always planning...would never leave out our loyal members like you all who have responded to my question, already.

Hi Theme Worx,
Thank you for your input. I really appreciate it. Yeah, I'm sure you will always have to deal with this issue - - not fun. Too bad you couldn't use import CSS for member pages, and not just Network Creator themes. Maybe Ning will change that someday. At least then, it would take someone with experience to steal your CSS.

All the tips have helped my site, and l am learning more each day from you. l enjoy the new toys as l call them.lol and l think a donation will be better because the people here are not rich. l am not, that's for sure.No one has to worry about me claiming anything, they all know l need help.So when there is something on my place, l point them to the source. l really love this group here. It is nice to come here when l have trouble sleepinng.

i'd be happy to pay. anyone who is actually making money from their network will.

I'd suggest a per tip price as well as an annual fee or lifetime fee.
