How To Automatically Feed Your Ning Blog or Ning Latest Activity to Your Twitter Account

One of our members (BeatTheBook.net) asked how I was automatically updating Twitter with our Latest Activity. Great question, and great answer.

TwitterFeed.com is a great service, which automatically updates your Twitter account with your submitted RSS Feed!

It's been a great way to get the word out about the Ning Directory and your Ning Networks. I often see new members who say they found us through Twitter. I have us set up under 2 accounts. One for our Latest Activity, and the other for THE LIST. We are always Twittering our activity to the world. I also see a lot of visitors who arrive on the Ning Directory from Twitter!

Go to TwitterFeed.com and setup an account. You will need to have this information ready:
1. Your Twitter Account Name
2. Your RSS Feed for whichever RSS you want to feed to Twitter.

Read the directions thoroughly. I think you will find it to be quite easy.

Hey Kingdomz X,
On the 2 twitter accounts, actually now we have 4 twitter accounts. I like to keep them separate for a few reasons.

A feed from THE LIST: http://www.twitter.com/ningdirectory

Feeds from latest activity, and several other RSS feeds from overall site happenings:
http://www.twitter.com/directoryofning

Ning Network Tips:
http://twitter.com/ningnetworktips

And now, http://www.twitter.com/ningtweets
All 3 Twitter Blogs are fed to it.

Oatmeal, anyone?! LOL I will never, ever, have a bowl of oatmeal now, without thinking of you.

You have to be sure that you copy and paste the entire URL of your RSS feed, that you want to include in Twitterfeed.

Hi Jen, How do I find the RSS for my ning activity? I placed my blogspot.com rss but that's not what I want. I want my ACTIVITY to be tweeted.....just don't know where the heck to find that.....duh!!!!! ~Nar

This should work, if not a private site. Add your domain at start of URL.

/activity/log/list?fmt=rss

Shucks!! I just realized that my site is private. I wish Ning would include a partial public/private availability. I want some of my pages to show but not all . . . Thanks, Jen!
