That's curious. I guess you better remove the code. I can't imagine why they would disappear. I'll take a look and add it via Firebug and see what happens.

I just tried it on your site. It just made the font size smaller, which is what it should do. Are you sure you entered:
#xg_navigation ul div.xg_subtab ul li a {font-size:.95em!important;}

And, maybe change the font size to suit your needs?
