Some apps are code ready for the main page. Some are not. It is up to the publisher of the app to insert a line of code to make this possible. One that works well, I know, is Vince's OUR RSS where the reader combines several rss feeds into one box. Once you install this app from the ap area, it will automatically appear on the main page or if not you may have to drag it in. If the app you are using is not ready for main page insertion but you have it positioned, once the app is upgraded to nings specification, if will automatically show up.

I think I just read on Creators where Eric said that apps will only appear on the home page if the app publisher specifies it. So you have to check out the app you are wanting to use, and find out what it says. I had a daily photo app that appeared on my homepage just fine. Unfortunately, it didn't change daily like it was supposed to, so I had to remove it.

Best of Luck in finding one to suit your purposes. Oh, also I often add applications by going directly to the publisher's site, instead of using Ning apps. I just do a search on google to find what type of app I'm looking for.

Plus, I read on Creators that even the apps that are ready (by their Developer) to show on home page aren't working. One of the Ning Support Guys said there is a temporary workaround until they get this fixed:
Go to, My Network/Members/Controls, and check the box next to: "Allow members to add Apps to their My Page"

BUT, this isn't working for me, so guess we'll have to wait for the fix.
