hi i did a hell of alot of customizing on www.dreadlockssite.com
which works beautifully in ff abnd chrome
but in ie its alllll messed up
well not all and thats the weirdest part
it works great on the splash page
it works great on the main page
it does not work on forum s]discussions which mess up my menu and everything

another unrelkated (or is it) issue the last reply bocxx now overruns the area it should be in and extends beyond the edge of the screen (for me at least nings tech ppl couldnt see it)

i would love some fast help on this as ivce spent days and days perfecting the customizatins only to find somehow somethings really screwed up

this issue may have come up already since the code thats affected is basicly an adaptation of the activity feed thought bubble code

Just so you know - - I'm not able to offer custom work for free, not often at least. This is unique to your network and customization. If I had time, I would be happy to look. But right now I can't. I try to offer support to questions that could help many.

Good luck - - hoping you figure it out soon.

Jen

its starting to look like an issue on nings side

the code used was a modification of the thought bubble code for status updates (wghich also stop working on forum discussions in ie)

ive tried removing all custom code and css  and still no go

i think the thought bubble dcode came from you right?

i believe if thats the only css i use and it wont work in the forum discussion pages

still testing this further

Yes I think the thought bubble came from Alex, on Creators and JenSocial. Either way, if you feel that's part of the puzzle, remove that code. If you've already removed all custom CSS, then I would contact Ning.

Best,

Jen

contacted ning they suggested i ask you

the weird thing is it works fine on every page but the forum discussions
even if its the only code there is in there

i do believe its on nings side but after 3 calls they still recomended i asjk here at least to see if its affecting any other networks besides mine

Ask me? Too funny. What was their reason? Is this supposedly being caused by custom code provided from me? Because if it is, remove the code please. I can't guarantee any code, naturally. I don't have control of what Ning may or may not change to the platform. Know what I mean? =)

I looked and really don't see at all what you're referring to as a problem with menus, or whatever is messed up. If you can send me a screenshot describing exactly what is wrong, I'll take a look.

its only if u actually read a discussuion..in ie i added a lot of screenshots here
http://creators.ning.com/forum/topics/forum-discussions-all-screwed...

i removed all code
i guess they wanted to see if anyone else using this code had the same issues

i went through commenting out each sectuion of cofde at a time then each statement within each section
by removing a float:none the menu went back to horizontal but left justified instead of centered
but that was as close as i could get to making it work right

im certain its got to be on nings side but i guess they need other networks to be doing it too to believe me
Total confusion for my brain tonight. I'll try to take a fresh look tomorrow.
haha now u know how i feel been tryin to figure it out for a good 18 hours now
but you know alot more then i do

the fact it works everywhere but forum discussions confuses the hell outta me

1st instinct was disable all code related to discussions
when that didnt fix it it got real confusing fast

Just wanted you to know, I looked again. It's just too much customization for me to see anything I could do to help.

Sorry, wish I had better news.

Jen

well thats the thing if  i remove all customization except 1 thing it still dont work right i think it must be an issue on ning

i guess we'll see what they say in the next day or 2
