Hi folks.
I have a domaibn name i bought from Go Daddy. wanted to make a simple page with a little content to place ad units from AdSense on. So I get caught up in this whimsical (and what sounded to be VERY simple) idea to make a website centered around the domain name. I was told to get Joomla, and use a Joomla script for the template, blah blah so on and so on. Here I sit, 6 hours later, 2 on the phone with Godaddy, several in forums trying to figure out how to get this template into my go daddy hosted domain. Well guess what? it's only good up to v 1.5, joomla is at 1.6.3. Totally wasted my night. Here is all i want to do for the time being
Can someone PUHHLEASE tell me how to do this in a simple way? Pretty much, I want a parked domain with MY adsense units running on it, not Go Daddy's.

Are you trying to make a page and put HTML in it using your GoDaddy account?
If yes , then make a simple HTML document using your FTP of your godaddy account and then put the Google Adsense code into it. i guess your Godaddy account has FTP (File Transfer Portal) which looks like a File icon inside your Domain Control Panel.
1. Go into your FTP .
2. Go into Public_html
3. There should be a "new file" icon in the control panel > Click it > and name it anyname.html
4. Then refresh , you should see it now , Right click it and EDIT CODE.
5. Place your adsense code into it and wrap the code with <center>ADSENSE CODE</center>
That should be it , your file should be in http://yourdomain.com/anyname.html .
If i am wrong , do explain more clearly what you want , i will help you out.
Have a nice day ,
Elson.

Then follow the steps i stated.

Permalink Reply by Dave Norris on June 24, 2011 at 3:21am for whatever reason, the welcome.html is what it shows. i created a couponcloud.html but when i go to the site (http://extremecouponcloud.com) it shows what is in the welcome.html on the page. Should I delete the welcome.html? will it default to the one I made (couponcloud.html)?
please forgive my noobness. I have already wasted so much time on this, i thought i could do this in about an hour, and it's been 8 (mainly due to the Joomla recommendation)
