Ning 3.0 Member Sign Ups - Turn off Membership on Sandbox Site

I created a sandbox site for jensocial, and in the process of testing the platform. I won't start adding design or content for a while, so not quite ready for primetime. I just had an experience that I wish I had prevented. It made me think of this easy little tip I want to share with you. I am honored that 2 new members joined the site. So, my sincere apologies to BenArion and Karis Carter, for not being ready. If you are in the same situation and testing a sandbox site, and not quite ready for members, turn off Member Sign Ups, temporarily.

• Open your Toolbar.
• Click on the Member Management icon, see below.
• Click on link: Sign Up & Sign In.
• Uncheck all boxes except "Sign In" next to your site's domain name.
• Click on Save.
• Now, your site will not accept Membership, until you turn these features back on.
