I just create and try the NING 3.0. Very shocking!! meaning far beyond my imagination. It's so minimalist. Can't wait to see all the features come out. Keep minimal and simple. Very good for tablet and mobile. But I truly hope they will have language editor.

That Language Editor does have its uses.  SO we will have the LE, the CSS box and the Custom Code box.  Everything we need to mod our sites to customize them and add features Ning hasn't provided.  We'll be all set. :-)

That is so great!! Thanks for this info. Hope they kindly improve the Language Editor somehow. Make it easier to use. Like which word goes where, especially for a single word in title or button. And hope that big column will disappear. LOL

Definitely I'm staying, I'm very excited about the new features. The appearance is much better, everything looks very clean and modern, yet lack finish polishing the new platform but I am sure that within one year will be 100%.

I have no idea....I am only an administrator and at the moment I don't know if the owner of the site I am an admin on is staying or going....I can't speak for her.

My personal view is Ning should let all now on the 2.0 stay as they are....and all who from a certain time forward who join NIng have the 3.0

I have had the opportunity to be a part of two of the 3.0 test sites....one a friend who made all of us admins on her site so we could better explore the site and  then also as a member of the test site for the site I am an admin on....so I have been fortunate to see the 3.0 from both perspectives.

I will say after seeing how the one site we were all made admins is turning  out  that I am beginning to change my mind somewhat about the 3.0.....I am also see where there is one problem being  just a  member..... if you want to add your own theme...no way to put a theme on your page...unlike the 2.0 there is no way to customize your  page. .Another problem and this is the same on both sites ....no groups.

Both these problems might be something that is added before this 3.0 goes public but if it isn't I think there are going to be some not so happy members  if they want to add their own theme or want to have a group.

Carol,

Thanks for your thoughts. It would be great if 2.0 could stay. But, Ning has made it clear they can't support 2 systems long term. I think the profile page customization will come in time.

Not 100% certain at this time, I have to look deeper into the whole change, but I'll probably be staying with NING Jen.
