How to add your domain name on Plus plan...Domain mapping basics.


Here is a BASIC tutorial on adding your own domain name to your ning network, this is for the PLUS subscriber. After you purchase your domain name from "godaddy" or other...


1. login to your network


2. Click on manage tab


3. Click on Tools, go to domain mapping 

[Third from the bottom]


4. Add you original ning url 

[eg: irock.ning.com]


5. Add your new domain name, minus the http:// & www 

[eg: irock.com]


6. Add the new domain name with the www 

[eg.www.irock.com;]


7. Ensure the Redirect button is green next to the last box!


8. SAVE

Ok what does this mean? I am getting these two messages
Your A record for oregonshout.com points to 216.39.62.190, but it should point to 8.6.19.68.

G'day OregonShout, Ning's IP address is 8.6.19.68.... So you have to set your DNS settings to make your domain name eg: imsospecial.com to POINT to ning servers..

I really messed this up...had to reset everything at Yahoo~~ Tried to do as Ning instructed and every-time It was an issue.. So I am just using re-direct ... Bummer
