How to Add Livefyre 3rd Party Commenting on your Ning Network

Hi Guys,

I have managed to install Livefyre on my Network, at 1st i managed to install Disqus but

i noticed livefyre has more feature and mor epowerful than disqus,To install go to Livefyre website create an account and your code that you get you must put it in your custom code followed by this code immediately:

This will show livefyre comment under your blogs, videos, photo's & forums, see example here

After you add it you can go back to your Livefyre account to customize it the way you want ;) Enjoy

Hello everyone, I'm just joining JenSocial, great site!! Loving it already, and I just may have to check out the VIP access!

Anyways, I've tried adding this livefyre, to no prevail. I've done it all as shown, but nothing shows up. I've logged out, to view as a non signed in member, still nothing.

Furthermore, I tried to add disqus, and it isn't working either. However "comments powered by disqus" shows up at the bottom of the site, so it's half working?

Is something not allowing it to be seen or something?

I'm so lost, can somebody please help me to get this to work on my network, my members have been requesting the ability to comment anonymously, as well as allowing non members to comment.

Thank you, and I appreciate all help!

Take care

Damien

DJ,

I've not had great luck with 3rd party commenting on Ning sites. They're always too slow, and cause issues from time to time. How is this going for you? I'd love to know.

Thanks,

Jen

So I figured out a bit.

Livefyre will not work, I made a new page and put the code into the HTML editor. It shows up, loads, but won't do anything.

So I tried Disqus, and it works! I put it into it's own page, and used the HTML section in the body. These codes won't work in custom code/analytics box.

They have to be put into a text box or individual page.

It can be done, but so far I've not been happy with any solution being inserted within Ning's Custom Code Box. You shouldn't have any issues on a page, except for people finding it.

Best of luck, and thanks for sharing your experience.

Jen

I have LiveFyre on the Main page of my network www.usfra.org. So far only me and another member have used it. I'm thinking about taking it off because no one is using it. I may give it a month and see what happens. =:-)

Hi Fyre,

Interesting. Please keep us posted, would like to hear what happens.

Thanks!

Jen
