Hello all,

I know this help is already here somewhere -- but my attempts to find it have failed.

I've tried searching various keywords but what I am looking for is:

1) how to change my tabs to a single string/bar/menu bar across the page below (like the blue links above that say Home/YOU/Blogs/Directory/ and so on)

and

2) What simple keywords should I be using to find the tip?!

*FYI, my site: http://englishworldwide.ning.com

*FYI, I have paid for a one year membership to VIP Access here on JenSocial.

Thank you,

Holly

Holly, first I would like to Welcome you! In regards to questions, in the future if you ask questions inside the VIP Group, I'll see them quicker. This is the best place and where I check often:

Hi Holly,

I need to read all of this when my mind is fresh. For now, here's a couple of things to share with you. You may want to try playing around with this code:

http://jensocial.com/group/premiumningtipsbyjen/forum/topics/sample...

And, the way I found this - - I keep an external database of all VIP Tips to provide better search results. The way you perform a search on VIP Tips:

1. Go to VIP Group here: http://jensocial.com/group/premiumningtipsbyjen

2. Let group page completely load.

3. Find the Socrata Table at top of page.

4. Click on small magnifying glass at top left of Socrata Table, enter keywords, and click enter.

5. I found the tip by searching on "navigation", no quotes.

Best Regards,

Jen

Holly,

I still need to read the remainder of comments in this discussion. But for now, if you're not interested in the tip I provided that basically shares the JenSocial navigation code, this may be the answer you're trying to find. The following code will add a background color behind your entire navigation bar. In your case/theme, the bar will go across 100% of the width of site.

Instructions:

Edit/Add this code to your Advanced CSS via: My Network/Settings/Appearance/Advanced CSS

Change the #FFFFFF (white) to your preferred color.

.xg_theme #xg_navigation {
background-color:#ffffff!important;
}

Best Regards,

Jen
