How do I add the Activity Module to my layout? Maybe I'm over-thinking it.

Is there an RSS Module?

Thanks for the help!

Hi Edie,

Did you see this tip and screencast?

http://jensocial.com/forum/topics/how-to-create-custom-page-and-mak...

If you watch, notice the Add Content. The drop down list in left panel will display "Activity". Drag and drop to the layout canvas, like the other examples of adding content.

In regards to RSS Feeds, I'm embarrassed to admit, I don't know. I've been so busy learning and designing, I haven't even looked for the ability to create an RSS Feed, yet. I don't think we can, and don't know if it's on the roadmap. Maybe someone else will know. If not, I'll investigate this evening.

Best,

Jen

There is a place in 3.0 to add feeds from FB but I have no idea how to implement it on the page.

I figured if 3.0 could do that it could handle RSS....not sure though.

As always, thanks for your help and have a pleasant evening.

Jen, I tried it...oddly enough I only had two options: HTML and Activity:

The Activity, ie., My Activity is not what I want on the Main Page.

I always put an interesting RSS there.

Anyway...here's where I'm at.

Hi Edie,

You will have more options available in the "Add Content" dropdown, as you create modules. For example:

  • From Sites & Pages,
  • Add a Page.
  • Choose Blog as your "Page Type".
  • Once the Blog is created and saved, it will be added to the "Add Content" List with HTML and Activity.

The idea here is - - any module you create, in addition to HTML and Activity, can be added (drag & drop) to a Custom Page Layout. The Custom Pages serve as our Canvas to build out pages with modules and HTML.

I haven't been able to research the RSS, yet.

Hope this helps,

Jen

Oh...gotcha. I'll fool around with that and thank you! you really did help!
