Visit Schopenhauer's Children

I created this Ning Network, because I am sick and tired of people using Schopenhaueric techniques, manipulation, persuasion techniques, methods of domination, internet bullying and all kinds of dysfunctional and destructive debate techniques against me and others, forcing people out of community and causing people to shut up, because opening your mouth in the company of dominators and dominatrices like these is futile.

I named the network "Schopenhauer's Children", because Schopenhauer wrote “The Art of Being Right”. That is a satirical list of techniques one can use to win an argument. People who use the techniques don't want to discuss, share ideas and thoughts, listen to others, learn new things or just have fun with others, no, they want to "win", what ever that is.

I have the network so that people can learn to recognize these techniques, so that they can avoid using them themselves and when others are using them, can either bypass them (based on the knowledge of that the person wants to be right, wants to win, wants to dominate) or leave the Listing knowing that it is futile.

I also give alternatives of constructive and functional communication.

I would like others to join my network, to share their experiences of good and bad debate ethics, their suggestions on how to make it better, their ideas and thoughts on the issues. I really cannot do this well on my own :-)
