There are tons of news sites and news widgets. I've had good luck with the stability and low resources, this one uses. If you need that extra fresh content, add a news widget to your Ning Network from Feed Zilla.

FeedZilla offers a nice selection of customization. And, it offers several different embedded code types, from Flash to JavaScript.

You can use Flash, HTML or JavaScript for Ning Text Boxes and new pages.

Unfortunately, even the HTML version of embedded code will not work in this Discussion Box, which really surprises me. It will however work in boxes mentioned above.
