Yahoo's yslow

Hello everyone,

I ran the yslow test and got a test score of 37 (an F) (my hometown newspaper Mpls. Star-Tribune scored 39 so I don't feel too bad) Creators got 67 =C and Jen's got a 64=D Many of the same criteria on each of our sites scored F's but I'm afraid I don't know (yet-gonna read up on it) how to correct some of it. Any insights by anyone that has traveled this path? By the way, I don't think my site is terribly slow loading. (If anyone would be so kind to give it a try and let me know how it loads and looks, I would appreciate it.)

Well it took less than 5 secs to load Looks good

Hi James,

Yeah, it's not great for any Ning site. I've been fighting it for over 3 years, and get tired of Ning saying "too much on your site". So, I'll do the same to you, LOL. All I know to do is suggest what's slowing it down. The Status Update is really slowing it down on a technical level, but not bad for me as a user. The more widgets you have on your home page, the slower of course.

A few things that's causing it:

Special Status Update app

Comix and Sport's widgets

2 bottom center widgets

I believe having 4 widgets from widgetbox are a killer.

It looks very nice, and not terrible on loading for me. But, I do notice it takes quite some time for the status bar in bottom left to say it's actually loaded.
