Well, I took a leap and went premium on Ning today - the no-ad option.  I am really going to work on getting some advertisers to help out.   Hopefully the new payment structure won't be too much more.  For some reason, I feel like if I am premium before the switch, that will somehow help me, although doubtful.

I really have a good feeling about the future of my site, Wish me luck!!

We are thinking about it, but we will wait for May4th update
Although I still don't care for the way this was announced, out of empathy for free sites - - I think in the end, the premium sites will be the bomb, in features and support. So, congratulations on your leap!

awww, thanks for your kind words. I love to hear that kind of feedback, made my day!

Wishing you huge success with your site!
Best,
Jen
I'm thinking about taking the plunge too, in upgrading to premium. Although like Jen, I don't care for the way they announced things. I feel that ning was sneaky and underhanded, in the way they did things all around. So it leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth, about them as a company I can trust, and want to give my money to. I've looked at a couple other free sites, and like what I see. However, I'm not too excited at the prospect of moving a 3100 member site, with loads and loads of content. So I'll wait until May 4th and see what they have to offer, before making my final decision.
