I have software that will create a form for me with the html and javascript.  I paste the code it creates onto my ning page and load the related files on my server.   Problem is, when I do this outside of ning, it finds the files because I put them all together.   How can I make it find my files if I put the code directly on my ning page?  I got it to find part of it by adding the full address, but its not finding all of it.

I hope I'm making sense.  I hope its an easy fix, like I just need to tell it where to look.

Thanks all.

GirlRiders,

This would be true on any server, if your files are not stored on the server where you install the final HTML, the relative paths will not work. So on Ning, since you don't have a server to load files in this manner, you will need the full path for every file. You have to look inside your css and js files too, and make sure there are no file paths that need adjusting.

Best Regards,

Jen

GR,

If this form isn't just for Members, I suggest creating a form like explained here:

http://jensocial.com/group/premiumningtipsbyjen/forum/topics/how-to...

Direct Link - - Be sure to access the somewhat hidden FREE ACCOUNT LINK.

Then, all you have to do is copy/paste easy, breezy code into a new Ning Page for the install. I've been using it for years. AND, everyone can fill out the form, not just Members.

Best,

Jen

Excellent, I think I'll do that instead, thanks!

I just looked at it and its only a 14 day trial limiting the number of forms and entries.  I have plans to do other forms for some contests with more than 50 entries, so I think I'll end up just doing an iframe with the software I have.

3 Forms • 10 Fields/Form • 50 Saved Entries/Form • 1 User

You are starting a 14 Day Free Trial. Enter your credit card at any point during the 14 days to continue using Formstack beyond the trial period.

Wow, so confusing. That's the tricky part of their site. Go to this link: FREE ACCOUNT LINK, and although it says at bottom it is a 14-day trial, it seems that it's not. At least it wasn't for the last Client site I set up just days ago. If I go to his billing area of the formstack account, this is what it says:

Your Plan

$0.00/mo

  • 3 Forms
  • 10 Fields/Form
  • 50 Submissions/Form
  • 0 Storage
  • 0 Style Templates
  • 1 User

I just checked another Client account I set up 2 months ago. His says the same. I set mine up years ago. I'm guessing since they're hiding it so well, they're trying to get rid of the free plan. But, I do not believe they will cancel us or charge us, once we get in.

Up to you if you want to give it a try - - I do suppose there is some risk here.

=)

Jen

I'm glad all is well with all your accounts.  I think due to the limit on forms and submissions, I'm going to stick with what I got.   I got it working well with an iframe.

Thanks Jen

Great! Glad you got yours working well. I should have suggested an iframe. =)

Thanks Jen for this input on forms.  I am currently experimenting on jotform - it seems they offer unlimited forms with their free account.   Thinking of upgrading to their premium account to get the additional storage of 10GB.

Would appreciate your input also on their services, if you have tried them on a Ning.

Thanks.
