Please, always leave your site link when asking this type of question. =)

I'm not sure if you just want to remove some of the space below the navigation, or what?

This would remove some space below navigation:

#xg_navigation {
padding-bottom:0px!important;
}

If you want to lose some of the header background image, try playing with the height:

#xg_head {

height:140px!important;
}

in other words i want to "SHRINK TO FIT" my header and navgation portion
