1. change the names on the discussions and notes
- Go to Manage/Language Editor/US English or British English (whichever you have your network setup on)/ and search on the word Notes and/or Discussions. You can name them whatever you like. You can either change the name for all occurrences, or just the main title. For example, about seven entries down the list, you will see the word Notes. Change that word, to change the main title for Notes. If you mess up, just click on the big button upper right: Reset Text to Original Version
2. get more text boxes
You cannot have more than 10 (I think that's the limit). There is a limit. If you have not used them all on your home page, then you can add more from
- Manage
- Features
Look on the left, locate the "Text" box. If you do not see a Text Box, then you have reached your limit. Drag to the center column, and click on SAVE.

This is not a question I can answer in complete specifics. Streamlining your front page could be done in many different ways.
- Basically, to get started: Here are some suggestions.
- Copy/paste the contents of a text box that you feel can be added to a subtab.
- Create a new page from http://yournetwork.ning.com/page
- Paste the contents of the text box to your new page
- Copy the URL from the address bar, so you know the link to access your new page
- Go to Manage/Tabs
- Add new Tab or SubTab, using your new page link
4. make a sentence clickable to where soon as someone clicks it it goes straight to what I would like for them to see
You can add a hyperlink html tag around any amount of text. The key is: Add the beginning TAG
[a href="http://www.link_you_want.com"] Then add one word, or all of your text or statement here. And now end your tag [/a]
Do exactly this with the above example, replace the left and right brackets with less than and greater than signs - - replace [ with /b> AND replace ] with >
I had to use the brackets, so this would show as instructions, and not translated here as a link. Add target="_blank" right after the URL, to open link web site in new window. In other words, keep your visitor on your site.
5. make boxes around everything on the front page
Not really sure what you're asking here. Send me an example page, and I can show you the CSS that was used.
6. Larger Badge
I think you are going to need to send in a support ticket with Ning Help Desk on this one. That link is:
http://help.ning.com/?page_id=20
If you ever need the support link in the future, it is under "Ning's Main Links" on our home page, here.

Good Luck!
