Good question. If you're not one of the older sites back when we could request WebDav access to the root directory, it's not possible with the first Alexa claim method. Even the meta tag couldn't be done, due to the double tags that Alexa is requesting.

For now, I would use the "email link" method.

And my guess is: when the new Ning is implemented, or soon thereafter, we will all have more control, and possibly even access to WebDav, across the board.

Also, if I were you, I would go ahead and request WebDav access with the detailed reason. It wouldn't hurt to ask.

I actually thought that Ning may have made provisions via the Manage/Advanced Options. But I looked, and there's no mention of Alexa.
