If you're referring to a Ning Network, you can shut off their ability to edit their profile pages.

Go to My Network/Members/Controls

Hi jen, what i ment was to not to switch this feature off but change it for them i.e give them a custom feel without them giving me their password and going into thier pages control section. (this is only for close friends on the site)
