I just posted this question on Ning Creators.

Let's see who answers first..lol

Is there a way to make the latest activity viewable only by one's friends. Imagine FB showed the newsfeed for all of FB that would be ridiculous. Why do we have it like that. I would like members to sign in and view the latest activity only their friends. OR at least within their profile. I noticed that in the profile you only see your own latest activity.

Thanks

Your members have control over their own settings. They can go to Settings/Privacy and turn off Latest Activity for most elements. I've never tested this. But find it interesting that "discussion posts" are not in the list. I wonder if comments would include this? You would need to test it. Also, I don't think private profile items would show up in Latest Activity. There's probably more built in to this than we realize. For example, I see all the comments made in the Premium Tip Group from my Profile Page. And that's a private Group. So, first impression is: everyone can see that activity. However, if I sign-out I realize that only the Group Members of the private group can see the private group activity.

Publish an item in Latest Activity when I...

    * Add new items
    * Add new comments
    * Add new blog posts
    * Make a new friend
    * Update my profile
    * RSVP to an event
    * Update my status

Latest Activity will never include messages you send, pages or profiles you view, friendships
you decline or remove, invitations you decline or items you delete.
