The Research Cooperative was established in 2001 as an international, not-for-profit organisation (NPO).

Our mission is to support academic, scientific, and popular research communication in all subjects, languages, and media.

We do this by facilitating contact between all the people involved in research communication: researchers, university students, science writers, technical writers, editors, translators, illustrators, photographers, IT specialists, language service companies, and publishers (academic, scientific, medical, technical and educational; all media).

We welcome volunteers and those seeking to get experience in some aspect of the research publishing process, as well as all professionals involved, and professional companies and networks.

Offers and requests for help can be posted in our main forums, and we have many special focus groups for different areas of research communication. One of aims is to help young editors and translators gain experience, and to encourage all research writers to seek and acknowledge help in a professional manner.
