Hi Brian,

Thank you for posting this. I haven't said anything, because I've made comments in so many places. Suffice it to say, although I knew he was critically ill - - I was completely taken aback and deeply saddened when I read the news. In my opinion, Steve Jobs is the Father of Innovation, period. Missed is an understatement...

I shed a few tears too. I remember opening the first "Lisa" in something like 1982 for a large Corporation, and marveling at his intelligence and vision. I think that's when he started the Macintosh Project. Then back in the day, I had the honor of being in his midst at different events like COMDEX. So young to go, so sad. But, the World will always be a better place because of his creativity/innovation - - and someone who will never be forgotten.

Absolutely Jen. I saw someone on creators make the comment how Steve had built up Apple to be the biggest tech company next to Microsoft. Well, someone has not been following the financial news lately. Steve founded Apple, got kicked out, after that the company went down hill, he came back 10 years later when Apple was 3 months away from going bankrupt, 3 months later Apple had it's first profitable quarter in many years, and before he died he had built Apple up to being the biggest company in the world. Not the biggest tech company, and certainly not next to Microsoft, but the biggest company period, beating Xxon Mobile.

 

Now if that isn't impressive I don't know what is, right? Just, wow.

 

I recommend the movie "Pirates of Silicon Valley", and I hope they will make more movies about him in the years to come.

Yeah I saw that too, and decided it wasn't worth my comments due to the subject at hand. I've followed it all very closely too. Odd enough I got stuck on PCs as my mainstay, just out of "luck of the draw" and I started out as a mainframe programmer. But I always had a secret and greater love for Apple. ;-) And now that my main love is design, I regret that I got stuck in the PC World. My admiration for Steve Jobs and his accomplishments is great.

Sounds like you need a Mac, fast, and then install Windows via boot camp ! :)

The new Mac minis are dirt cheap. (My horns are showing, I know) :)

I've had a few and have supported them for years - - and love them. I do need a new one. But, when you have 1000s invested in software, that's why I end up staying where I am, and the only reason. ;-)

It's awesome how you can run Windows on your Mac so you can still use Mac even if you NEED Windows.

Hi Brian,
Yeah, we have some of the MAC/Window combos in the family and biz. I just tend to want to go with one OS. I'm sure I'll buy a new MAC soon, been looking.
