OH MAN Someone PLEASE Tell Me How This Guy Made His Text Look 3D!

this looks soooo wicked! look to the right of the vid at the light blue font....all of the light blue fonts look like they are floating actually....looks so neat

Too deep to try and dig into his CSS, although I tried. Bottom line, if I understand what you're talking about, he has a semi-transparent background behind his text. That can be done with an image (a png), and a little harder with CSS but doable. This may help:
